Nanda Kishore Veturi , Son of Great Veturi garu - appeals to media through my blog.

recently i wrote a article on veturi garu , in my blog.for that article Nanda Kishore garu , son of great veturi garu responsed. in his response he slams this present useless media and some people who attended the meeting, as they are focusing his mother as shelterless.He appeals them , not to cook the news, which hurts them. to read his complete response click on read more.

"It is with great pain that we are writing this response. Dr.Sri.Veturi Sundara Rama Murthy garu had fought for his legitimate land which should have been allotted to him in Jubilee Hills under the film nagar society.

But we have been observing everyone attending meeting and talking without verifying facts with the family. Everyone is talking as if our mother is without any shelter. We are three sons well educated and capable of taking care of our mother.

I appeal to everyone through your blog that kindly do not indulge in such activities maligning our family. We are not begging anyone for house. The matter of allotting house plot in jubilee hills is the responsibility of film association and AP government. Thats all.

Ila audience feel ayyelopu 2 Chinna twists tho konchem speed avuthundhi cinema Ashish Vidyarthi character ki icchina twists ki manchi response vacchindhi , and climax malli 1st half la fun , emotion workout ayayi.

As A.P Film chamber of commerce is taking  ONE-SIDED decisions like Ticket rate hike [death sentence to TFI] etc.. with out consulting TFPC and TFI as those decisions would effect the lives of 3 lakh people based on TFI.

 In Kothagudem [khammam district] out of 5 theatres 4 theatres are under the lease of mrSureshBabu, S.B pays rs40,000/- to the each theatre owner per week ,

per theatre he charges 1,20,000 to 1,50,000 from the producer/distributor per week depending on the demand, where as for their syndicate films he charges 40k only but the other small producers and distributors have to bear this High Rental .

This way they are looting the TFI.

Producers need protest this LEASE System at the Telugu film producers council [TFPC]general body meeting on 19^th sep at 4pm

Agenda: 1.Request the govt to pass a G.O making the theatres run small budget films on percentage system instead of HIGH RENTAL for 16 weeks in a calendar year

2.Reduce Theatre Ticket rates

3.Increase Entertainment Tax on dubbed films like in Tamilnadu and Karnataka   

4. Dizitalisation of All Theatres to save prints cost

5.4 weeks tax free to small budget films

6.Cost cutting measures.

Tamilnadu and Karnataka governments and their film chambers are already implementing all these and helping their Industries grow, except in A.P

Syndicate of APFCC would never try to help TFI, so We request all the active members of the TFPC to attend the meeting

support the resolution and save our dying MOTHER CINEMA so that APFCC should never think of taking HARMFUL decisions  in future.

Sadly, the cost of reaching out to the audience has become too expensive for small budget film makers.

The lessee’s are BIG block to our ideas and vision.

‘Increase success ratio’ is not the answer as no one starts to make dud, and the success rate is more or less same in all other language films.

 Greed could destroy the TFI.

Happy happy ga' collected 4 lakhs [1st week revenue], Lessee/Exhibitor got rs 2,75,000 including Rent and Theatre Maintenance Charges[TMC].

where as the Producer/Distributor got just 5,000 after deducting Print &Publicity  from the main theatre of Hyderabad.

Probably around 5 lakhs share from the entire state, even that paltry amount would be adjusted towards second week rental deficit.

On 4cr Investment producer gets 25% returns from satellite rights and he would quit the industry loosing 75% of his hard earned money.

Around 120 producers are making films to make lessee’s richer day by day and very few countable producers get back their investment.

'Happy Happy ga' atleast made the share of 5,000rs with these HIGH RENTAL, it would have got 2lakhs deficit if The Ticket rates were hiked as Geeta arts proposed

small film makers on an average have to shell down one and half lakhs plus on each theatre to release their film if the Ticke prices are hiked and that would be the death of small cinema

so keeping in mind Thousands of families we request Allu Aravind garu and Chiranjeevi garu not to take this extreme step for their selfish gain and cause damage to their mother Industry. The proposed hike will benefit only BIG4 and it will get angry reaction from audiences and telugu film Industry

Please don’t let that happen with your influence.

You can become the face and voice of alternative good quality cinema,that will take Telugu Cinema to the greater heights.

You growww..  and please allow others to survive.

You cant make others as you wish them to be,

Don’t make TFI a feudal industry, and don’t make our lives miserable.

We request the honorable Minister smt Geeta Reddy garu to reduce ticket rates from 50 to 35/- and issue the G.O making the Theatres run small budget films for 16 weeks on percentage system in the calendar year.

Telugu Cinema will touch RS 1000 cr mark for the 1st time.

Of the Rs 1000cr abt 50-60% comes to Producers.
Rest goes to Theatres,
Govt (tax), Music labels, retailers, mobile cos & others.

                                        Our Estimation:
Out of 1000cr revenue, around 140cr comes from TV/Video, 30cr from Music rights and ring tones, 30cr  from Overseas, 800cr  from B.O
From B.O revenue of 800cr,deduct Govt Entertainment Tax 12% -avg [5%on small/15%on high/20%on dubbed films] 96crores = 704cr
Then deduct Theatre Rents etc 344cr = 360cr +190 cr [other revenues] =550cr

deduct 10% Distributors commision 55cr, Finally Producers would be getting around 495cr, i.e less than 50% of the total revenue mark.
Around 344cr is going away as rents[enhanced by Lessee's], nearly 50% of the B.O receipts [ rent varies from film to film, most of the producers/distributors get less share than the rental, so it is the average amount]
Note: didn’t exclude other states [Karnataka,T.N,Orissa,North India] and dubbing/remake rights revenue.
Making Cost
[Around 140+ films may be released in 2010]
High Budget films 20x16cr [Average] = 320cr
Mid-Budget films 30X5cr = 150cr
Low Budget films 90x1.5cr = 135, Total  =  605
Prints,Publicity.. cost
11,500 Prints x 75,000/- [Avg] = 86.25cr
Total cost  605 + 86.25 = 691.25cr say 695cr
TFI is spending 695cr+ and getting 495cr+ revenue, loss of 200cr annually.
Where as lessee’s are enjoying good profits on these 140 films.
If the Lessee’s revenue of 200cr comes to TFI, we can at least come to break even level with 695cr revenue[495+200]

Out of 4 South Indian film industries [Telugu,Tamil,Kannada,Malayalam] TFI is the biggest, but we are far behind them regarding switch over to Digitalised screens 

Digitalised projection would lower the cost of releasing a movie

Out of 1400+ operational single screens in A.P we have 307 [156-QUBE, 151-UFO] Digitalised single screens as on July 15^th 2010.

In Nizam  47 out of 348+ screens and in Hyderabad 21 out 0f 110+ screens were digitalised

Power of Komaram Puli [K.P]

with Geetha  film distributors giving priority to ‘Digitalized Theatres’ to release their prestigious film ‘Komaram Puli’, another 60+ Theatres are being digitalised at rapid speed to exhibit ‘K.P’

So not only the producer of ‘K.P, many Producers would benefit, by going for Virtual prints thus avoiding physical prints.

Taking inspiration from ‘K.P’, Other forthcoming Big budget extravagant movies KHALEJA, ROBOT, BRUNDAVANAM, ORANGE, BADRINATH can get us  300+ additional digitalized screens.

If that is done Qube and Ufo management also should waive off VPF[Virtual print fee] for those films,as they would be benefited from those new screens apart from the TFI.
